Welcome to the Think!Think! Monthly Puzzle: June 2017 Edition (Closed)

Think!Think!, by Hanamaru Lab, is a fun and educational brain-training app for children (available for free on Android and iOS), that helps to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, something that we like to call ‘Thinking Sense’.

Every month, Think!Think! puts on a Special Event. This month, we are holding a puzzle competition for kids to solve together with their parents and guardians- we hope that you enjoy it!

This month’s puzzle is called ‘Crack the Code’!

About the ‘Crack the Code’ puzzle

’Crack the Code’ is a puzzle in which players have to figure out the pattern in the information given, and use that pattern to work out the answer.

This puzzle is designed to sharpen children’s ability to think abstractly, and to quickly spot the connections between seemingly random pieces of information. This is a very important skill that determines whether or not we are able to perceive the broader meaning behind the knowledge we acquire. For example, this ability is the difference between simply remembering the words ‘kilometre’ and ‘kilogram’, and realising that the prefix ‘Kilo-’ in general refers to units of 1,000.

In fact, even if you don’t correctly spot the pattern, even just attempting to solve the puzzle itself helps to foster an ability to look at the world from multiple perspectives and dimensions.

That’s why finding the right answer is not really the point of this puzzle- the point is for our players to enjoy the process of discovering the answer for themselves.

Teams that get more than one correct answer will be published in the Monthly Puzzle Hall of Fame section of the Think!Think! Website. To enter the competition, just fill out this google form  by  Saturday, 3rd June.
